Well it seems Limewire is in a bit of trouble as they get sued for damages of up to $75 Trillion by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America)
The RIAA had contends that LimeWire has enabled potentially thousands and even millions of people to illegally download one or more of over 11,000 songs. As a result, the association said its members are entitled to statutory damages for every single illegal download.
An award based on the RIAA calculations would amount to more money than the entire music industry has made since Edison's invention of the phonograph in 1877. I didn't think anybody still used limewire anyway.

ReplyDeleteThat's nonsense! limewire it's just a way to share! They won't (the RIAA) realize how stupid their claims are.
ReplyDeleteWTF. What, do they expect the entire country to fold unto itself and dump all of the GDP into this lawsuit or something? crazy. if anything, this will just spur the movement towards free and open file sharing.

The RIAA is totally wrong, the music industry is still using their old business model and expects us to be little obedient dogs and buy cd's at high prices where half of the songs or most likely 80% of the content sucks!
ReplyDeleteOfcourse we can download our songs at an 1 dollar/euro price but still not all content is available in such a way
Hahahah, I have quite a couple thousand songs on my ipod.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean my ipod is worth $75 trillion?
